Our radiant real bride Megan married her love, David, in our Hale dress for her chic Scottish chapel wedding.

For Megan and David, their Love Story began with a strong groundwork of friendship and collaboration. From receiving positions in a Graduate Scheme the same day, to their wedding day, their union was written in success from the very start. Growing together every step of the way.
“It all began in 2017, in the not-quite-romantic surroundings of the a work graduate Assessment Centre, where David and I were the only two successful candidates to make it onto the graduate scheme that day.
That said, we remember that day very differently. David claims he noticed me straight away — apparently my “fun fact” about growing up in South Africa made enough of an impression that he mentioned me to his mum that evening. I, on the other hand, have absolutely no memory of David from that day (whoops!).
What I do remember is becoming good friends once the graduate scheme began. We got to know each other properly over time, especially when we were placed on the same team. Somewhere between long days at work, shared laughs and growing familiarity, friendship quietly turned into something more — and that’s when the spark really began.”
As for their proposal, David chose a warm, intimate moment at their new home to pop the question. A place that represented them, and everything that they had built together. We cannot picture a more perfect proposal.
“With a little help from my bridesmaid Laura-Ann, David invented a very convincing excuse about needing to go to London for work. While I was none the wiser, they were actually ring-shopping in Hatton Garden and found the perfect engagement ring — which felt especially meaningful given it was so close to where David and I first met and lived together.
As for the proposal itself – we were sitting outside on a sunny evening in the garden of our new house, firepit lit, in what I can only describe as a very Love Island-esque moment — while Kenny, our four-month-old puppy, ran around causing absolute chaos. And then, completely out of the blue, David squatted down — not knelt — and asked the question!”
“I fell in love with the HALE gown!
I loved the corset, the buttons down the back, and the versatility of the sleeves!
The experience was genuinely amazing. The first boutique I visited was Wedding Belles of Four Oaks in Birmingham, and I spent the appointment trying on a number of beautiful dresses. As I reached the end of my slot, though, nothing had quite given me that wow feeling.
That’s when the team suggested one last “wild card” – a dress called Hale.
From the moment I tried it on, I knew it was different. It was unlike anything else I’d seen and, most importantly, I felt instantly comfortable in it. Even more serendipitously, it had only just arrived as a sample. With my wedding date too close to place an order, the team offered me the chance to take the sample instead – and I was the first and only person to have tried it on. It also fit like a glove and needed only minimal alterations.
I went away and thought about it all weekend, but after searching far and wide online, nothing even came close. On Monday morning, I called the boutique to ask if the dress was still there – thankfully, it was. I went back the following weekend, and that was that… she came home with me.

Megan’s special day took place just outside of Edinburgh, starting with a chapel ceremony that gave a traditional feeling to the trendy styling of the wedding.
“We got married just outside Edinburgh, Scotland, in October 2025, at Rosebery Steading — and honestly, we couldn’t have picked a better spot. There’s a beautiful stone chapel on site where we had the ceremony, and then everyone moved across to the barn-style steading for the party. It felt cosy, characterful and very “us”, with just the right mix of countryside calm and big-celebration energy.
The vibe was black tie, but not stuffy. Think chic and classy, but packed with fun. Bridesmaids in sleek black dresses set the tone, while a black-and-white chequered dancefloor and plenty of disco balls made it very clear the night was about having a good time. Polished, playful and full of laughter — exactly how we wanted it.”
“During the reception in between courses, we had music playing in the background. At one point, completely unplanned and unexpected, everyone started singing along to ‘Believe’ by Cher – think tambourines, people stood on chairs and absolutely immaculate vibes.”
“Make sure the day is what you both want – no one else! Everyone is quick to give their opinions, but trust your vision and know that the little things on the day won’t matter to anyone else.”
A perfect reminder that in the end… your wedding day is about you, the love of your life, and the vows you make to each other. The rest will fall into place.
Thank you for having us as part of your special day, Megan! We hope you’re loving every second of married life. Congratulations to you both!
