For Charlotte and Adam, their story began the modern way: online dating. In the years to follow, before romance, a deep friendship formed between the two. Years later, on their first date, it was obvious the affection was already there, and they have been together ever since!

How did you meet? Tell us your proposal story!
Charlotte met Adam on a dating app way back in 2017. Despite the digital distance and then the grand COVID disruption of 2020 – the two still found their way to each other. Finally having their first date in 2022. As Charlotte tells us: “The rest was history.”
“Adam proposed to me, on my favourite beach, Wells-Next-The-Sea in Norfolk, with a beautiful champagne picnic on the beach that consisted of all my favourite things.”

Which Evie Young gown did you fall in love with? & What was your experience like?
“I fell in love with the Effie gown!
“It was love at first sight with the Effie gown, in black! I loved that it was black, elegant, different and little flirty. It is truly a beautiful dress.
This experience felt like a truly-meant-to-be experience. I had only ever seen the dress online, I searched high and low online with different shops up and down the UK – to no avail. At this point I had accepted that I probably wouldn’t find this particular dress in black anywhere to try on. I had booked my first bridal appointment with TDR Bridal in Birmingham, who have a huge range of plus size dresses and of which stocked Evie Young. I happened to have a phone conversation with one of the girls from TDR a couple of days before my appointment to discuss what I was looking for and the vibe I was going for. When I explained to her about the Effie dress – she said to leave this with her as she maybe able to get in a sample dress for me to try. She called me back to say that a sample Effie dress in black would be expressed shipped into the shop ready for my bridal appointment – I was so over moon! I tried the dress on and immediately knew it was the one for me.“

What was your favourite moment from the big day?
The couple had a magical elopement in Scotland! The 13th century castle being the perfect backdrop for their special day. Complete with a moody, romantic Autumnal colour palette. We love seeing how an Evie Bride’s wedding always so perfectly captures them and their uniqueness.
Charlotte’s favourite part of the big day is a detail that acts as the heart of the entire memory. “The entire day was beautiful, even in the pouring rain – just the intimacy of eloping and sharing that with just our parents was my favourite moment.”
What advice would you share with future Evie brides?
“Be present, Have fun. Be your authentic self.”
