Congrats to our incredibly beautiful real bride Fern and her new husband James! Fern celebrated her special day in our glamorous Loren wedding dress, styling the gown with the included off-shoulder straps for one part of the day, and the long lace sleeves from our Roxanne dress for the next! We adore how she transformed her look multiple times throughout the event to completely personalise her bridal style.

How did you meet? Tell us your proposal story!
Fern and James are a true example of the Invisible String Theory. This theory suggests that an unseen thread of string connects two people through time in space, pulling two people together at the perfect time.
“We went to the same secondary school together, in different years so often passed each other but it was a few years later when our paths properly crossed when we went on our first date to the cinema and 10 years later we are still going strong.”
After the better part of a decade in love with each other, on holiday in Italy last year, James knew it was the perfect opportunity to ask THE question.
“We were on holiday in Sardinia last year when he took me down to the beach to watch the sunset with prosecco and proposed by the sea.”
Which Evie Young gown did you fall in love with? & What was your experience like?
Fern chose our Loren wedding dress, and found the perfect way to merge her two favourite Evie Young gowns into her dream dress.
“I found my dress at House of Snow Bridal in Bury St Edmund’s UK, they were an amazing bridal shop and made my experience so lovely. The Evie Young gowns stood out to me for being aimed at the modern but also still timeless brides and the level of detail on the dresses. I was so impressed with that, there was no doubt my gown would be an Evie Young design. As soon as I tried the Loren dress on I knew it was the one, I also added on the Roxanne dress lace sleeves (because I loved too many of the Evie Young dress options!)”
She loved the unique fabric of Loren, the shape the corset offered, and the scarf and detachable accessories that allowed for multiple looks throughout the day.
“The fabric – the hammered satin was such a unique fabric that just shone in the light that I knew it would be perfect in the summer light. The premium corset detail was to die for and made me feel so snatched and confident the whole day. The scarf and removable straps were also a fun extra so I kept changing looks throughout the day.”

Where did you get married? Tell us about the location, and style of your wedding!
Fern and James chose their wedding venue for they way it seamlessly blended the rustic style they love, with Mediterranean-inspired outdoor areas. Reminiscent of where they got engaged a year prior.
“Willow Marsh Farm, Leicestershire, UK. We fell in love with this venue for its unique barn / ranch style interiors with gorgeous Mediterranean inspired landscape areas outside, every single area in this venue is styled impeccably. We loved that it was a unique venue that isn’t like your standard venues you usually get and all our guests couldn’t stop commenting on what an amazing space it was.”
What was your favourite moment from the big day?
“Dancing with our saxophonist with all our favourite people in one room, and maybe a few too many Aperols consumed…“
A recipe to the perfect wedding!
What advice would you share with future Evie brides?
“Try to make any form of wedding planning or admin a date night so you can soak up all those little moments. The wedding admin is a lot but I would say the more you get done earlier the more relaxed (ish) you can be nearer to the time which makes the world of difference, the day really does fly by so much but try not to leave each others sides on the day so you don’t miss any part of it together!“
